Dr. Paul Ritter graduated from Kansas State University Veterinary School in 1995. He also received an undergraduate degree in Animal Science. While he was in college, Dr. Ritter was a member of the Kansas State University Meats judging team that was named the International Champion College Meat Judging team. Dr. Ritter was named the Individual International Champion in 1990.
Upon graduation, Dr. Ritter joined the staff at Oakley Veterinary Service, P.A. His interests are feedlot consultation and ultrasounding feedlot cattle to determine marketing groups and avenues. He is certified by the CUP Association to ultrasound purebred cattle. Currently he is one of only four certified technicians in Kansas that are on the forefront of the growing trend of using ultrasound in purebred herds for baseline data and information. Dr. Ritter does equine work upon client request, and can also perform cryptorchid surgeries. Dr. Ritter is presently a member of the KVMA, AVMA, AVC, and CUP.
In 2004, Dr. Ritter attended a rigorous course offered by UNL Great Plains Veterinary Educational Center called the Beef Cattle Production Management Series. This course included an in-depth study of nutrition, genetics and herd health records, as well as an introduction into the biomedical field.
Dr. Ritter enjoys hunting, refereeing football games and spending time with his family. He is a native of Dresden , Kansas . His family includes his son, Reilly, and daughter, Mackenzie.
